Chris Knowland has been working in different capacities for Beverly Hills Unified School District since working for Osborn Architects in the 1990’s on the design and historical renovations of Horace Mann Middle School. Knowland has provided construction management and DSA inspection services at various times and has worked consistently in Beverly Hills for the last 10 years.
Projects at Beverly Hills include more than $500 million of complex historical seismic upgrades, as well as new buildings, modernizations, and site projects. New buildings include underground parking structures and were complex due to the nature of sites being located next to commercial buildings that were impacted by construction, oil wells that needed to be capped and removed, and the historical nature of the buildings, which have been renovated numerous times over the years. Project delivery was primarily Lease-Leaseback.
